As Professional Engineers and Sustainability Consultants, we take our responsibility towards ethical practices seriously.

We take great pains to ensure we provide accurate advice to our clients and strive to enhance the environment for the benefit of all. While there is no legal obligation for us to report on our Environmental, Social, and Governance standards, we go beyond mere words by actively monitoring and measuring our impact on the world around us.

Our commitment is evident in our achievements, which include:

ISO Standards: We are proud to have achieved accreditation under ISO9001:2015 (Quality Management System) and ISO14001:2015 (Environmental Management System).

Planet Mark Certification: As certified members of The Planet Mark, we demonstrate our commitment to measuring and reducing carbon emissions whilst also enhancing our social value as a business.

Addressing Climate Change: Recognising the profound impact of our industry on climate breakdown and biodiversity loss, we are determined to contribute to resolving these crises. As early signatories of the #BuildingServicesEngineersDeclare commitment, we affirm our dedication to this cause.

UK Green Building Council Membership: As one of 500 members of the UKGBC, we actively share sustainability best practices to positively transform the places people use every day.

We’re carbon neutral: We are honoured to partner with Carbon Neutral Britain, offsetting our carbon footprint through the Woodland Fund™ Portfolio of verified carbon offsetting projects worldwide. Our certification as a Carbon Neutral Business reflects our commitment to environmental stewardship.

Volunteering Policy: Our Volunteer Scheme allows and encourages employees to take up to two days of paid time off to volunteer within their local community, supporting non-profit organisations.

Climate Change – #EngineersDeclare

We are aware of how our industry impacts on climate breakdown and biodiversity loss and are committed to play our part in resolving these crises. To this end we are signatories of the #BuildingServicesEngineersDeclare commitment to…

  • Advocate for faster change in our industry towards regenerative design practices and a higher Governmental funding priority to support this.
  • Establish climate and biodiversity mitigation principles as a key measure of our industry’s success: demonstrated through awards, prizes and listings.
  • Share knowledge and research to that end on an open source basis.
  • Evaluate all new projects against the aspiration to contribute positively to mitigating climate breakdown, and encourage our clients to adopt this approach.
  • Upgrade existing buildings for extended use as a more carbon efficient alternative to demolition and new build whenever there is a viable choice.
  • Include life cycle costing, whole life carbon modelling and post occupancy evaluation as part of the basic scope of work, to reduce both embodied and operational resource use.
  • Adopt more regenerative design principles in practice, with the aim of providing building services engineering design that achieves the standard of net zero carbon.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers and contractors to further reduce construction waste.
  • Accelerate the shift to low energy and nearly net zero energy in all our work.
  • Minimise wasteful use of resources in our building services engineering design, both in quantum and in detail.

Carbon Ofset Certification 2023

The Planet Mark

We are proud to be certified members of The Planet Mark who are supporting our efforts to reduce our carbon footprint year-on-year.

The Planet Mark is an internationally recognised sustainability certification for business acknowledging continuous progress, encouraging action, and building an empowered community of like-minded individuals.

In this crucial Decade of Action, we want to ensure that we are a force for good: positively transforming society and the planet by measuring our own impact on the environment. We are now committed to  reducing our carbon emissions, and we want to share this journey with our community to encourage others to take climate action.

Through The Planet Mark we are protecting an acre of endangered rainforest thanks to Cool Earth; a charity working alongside rainforest communities to halt deforestation. Our pledge through Cool Earth goes directly towards supporting the Asháninka community in Central Peru. By partnering with The Planet Mark we’re also helping the Eden Project – an educational charity that connects us with each other and the living world, exploring how we can work together towards a better future.

We look forward to sharing our sustainability achievements with you. Please don’t hesitate to contact us have any questions, suggestions or would like to get involved in reducing your carbon footprint too!
