The BRE have announced registrations for BREEAM UK New Construction Version 6 are being accepted as of 24 August 2022.
The new standard is designed to reflect the updated Building Regulations in England for Energy (Part L) and Ventilation (Part F2) which came into force on 15 June 2022.
The statement from BRE advises… “We recognise that not all projects in England will be following the updated Part L 2021 Building Regulations so both BREEAM UK New Construction 2018 and BREEAM UK New Construction V6 will be available for new registrations… Assessments registered under 2018 can be moved to the newer version on request, however, registrations under V6 cannot be moved back to an older version.
“The extent of the changes in this version release are purely to the Energy & Health & Wellbeing categories and are significant enough to warrant a change in version. All other categories will remain the same as the content in the 2018 version. Projects assessed against this new version will reflect the updated England building regulations through:
- Updated energy performance scales (translator curves) for England (Ene 01)
- Updated criteria relating to ventilation and air quality (Hea 02)”
