The Brief: A former Victorian mansion house, the property was to be completely redeveloped into a modern, purpose-built housing with care development. Energy Strategy to enable achievement of Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3.
The Engineering Difference: Everything has been highly specified and is designed to accommodate individuals living with dementia, or couples where one or both have dementia. The development completed in two phases to enable the existing facility to continue operating. There are now 42 highly specified one and two-bedroom apartments arranged over four floors, each achieving code level 3 compliance. Each apartment has a self-contained kitchen, bathroom and lounge area. Communal areas include a residents lounge, cinema room and well-being centre which is home to a support café, laundry and beauty salon.
