The Brief: A new build development of 26,651 sq. ft. The two-storey building includes a state-of-the-art innovation lab (tannery), testing and research laboratories, teaching spaces, offices and rooms available for commercial organisations to rent with the tenants having access to the wider facilities. Now located just outside Northampton Town Centre, the University took the decision to move the ICLT to their Waterside Campus offering the opportunity to sustain better maintenance and investment costs whilst also creating a landmark development with significant regenerative impacts.

The Engineering Difference: We were employed to provide Consulting Building Services duties on behalf of the developer and had to work closely with the University to ascertain their full needs and part of both Cat A and Cat B elements of the project. The brief for the Category B fit-out was developed by ESC before being tendered and the works then integrated into the project, part way through construction of the Category A works.
