Yesterday afternoon (Thursday 17th September) the ESC team stepped away from building services and sustainability and got stuck into something equally important… cake!
It was a brilliant ESC team event and a great excuse to get everyone together outside the day job… with plenty of baking, decorating, competitive spirit and, naturally, eating involved.
We’re hoping everyone has recovered from the sugar overload, that nobody’s still sporting brightly coloured food-dyed hands, and that thinking “I’ll just have one more piece” hasn’t resulted in too many regrets!
Huge congratulations to our winners, Ben Cooper & Elin Thomas-Rowe, on their very well-deserved victory. Hope your golden cake-slices will be put to good use! And a special well done to our judges for bravely forcing themselves to taste and evaluate every single cake (without being too rude about them!).
A massive thank you to our Social Committee for organising such a fun ESC team event, and an even bigger thank you to The Big Birmingham Bake in Digbeth for hosting us and, perhaps most importantly, tackling the aftermath and clearing up!
A brilliant afternoon of cake, creativity, questionable decorating decisions and plenty of laughs – exactly what a good team event should be.
