The Home Quality Mark (HQM) is the new national standard which will allow new-build homes to be assessed and promoted using a simple 5-star rating system. We are proud to have three Home Quality Mark Assessors in our team.
Designed to provide the occupants with confirmation of the quality of design, construction and running costs of the new property, the HQM will also advise of any impact it may have on their health & wellbeing.
An addition to the BREEAM portfolio of quality and sustainability standards, the HQM assessments will also measure the environmental footprint, flood resilience, overheating and even digital connectivity of the homes.
Please contact Vicki Wilson for further information on how we can assist with ensuring you achieve your best possible HQM rating.
Confirmation of the Home Quality Mark (HQM) Assessor qualifications of Vicki Wilson, Amy Clutterbuck & Jessica Lees can be found via GreenBookLive (the BRE’s unique reference source and online listing of environmental products and services).
This extract from www.homequalitymark.com provides further details on the HQM standard…
“The Home Quality Mark (HQM) has been created to serve the UK’s house builders and the householders who buy and rent new homes.
“HQM will help house builders to demonstrate the high quality of their homes and to differentiate them in the marketplace. At the same time, it will give householders the confidence that the new homes they are choosing to buy or rent are well designed and built, and cost effective to run.
“The Home Quality Mark will do this by providing impartial information from independent experts on a new home’s quality. It clearly indicates to householders the overall expected costs, health and wellbeing benefits, and environmental footprint associated with living in the home. In short, HQM helps everyone to fully understand the quality, performance and attributes of a new-build home.”
